Authentication

You can set up authentication using the SAML 2.0 protocol. To do this, you will first have to set up an authentication provider. See Supported Integrations. After the integration setup, you need to configure Humio — you can find instructions for the relevant protocol under Configuring Humio.

User authentication for an organization is available for enterprise customers only. To upgrade, contact Sales here.

Configuring Humio

You have to be an Organization Owner to set up authentication. If you are not an Organization Owner, you need to contact one to promote you.

SAML Cloud Configuration

To create a SAML 2.0 configuration, you will need the following:

  • An authentication provider set up. If you have not done so, you can find information on which providers are available, and the configuration guides here.
  • To be an Organization Owner. If you are not an Organization Owner, you need to contact one to promote you.
  • To be a Humio enterprise customer. If you want to upgrade, get in touch with Sales here.

Configure SAML 2.0 Authentication

  1. You can navigate to Organization Settings from the main menu:
  1. Navigate to Identity Providers under Users and Permissions:
  1. Click on Add IDP Configuration:
  1. Select SAML 2.0:
  1. Click Add a domain:
  1. Enter a domain name and click Confirm:
  1. Fill in the form with the values from the View Setup Instructions Okta page you opened earlier (step 14 of Okta Configuration in this guide)

  2. (Optional) If Humio should synchronize groups from the single sign on provider, enable Let identity provider handle group membership in Humio, and give it a value that matches the value in the single sign on provider:

  1. Click Save

  2. If the configuration was saved successfully, Integration URL will be displayed at the top of the page. You will need this to set the Default Relay State in the identity provider. See the section Setting Relay State in the relevant integration’s guide.
