You can configure Humio to run with or without user authentication. Users are authenticated, logged in using one of the following integrations, but authorization and permissions are handled in Humio:
Authentication is disabled by default. In order to make first-time set up easy for new users, Humio defaults to running without authentication at all. This is not recommended for production environments.
Humios cloud offering has a per customer configurable authentication mechanism: ‘Enterprise Login’. For a given email domain a SAML compatible Identity Provider can be configured. Allowing users to login with their company email. Currently this needs to configured by our support team together with interested customers. An upcoming release will support more protocols and provide a UI.
For monitoring Humio for security situations (e.g., hacker attempts, denial of service attacks, etc.), there are a few security monitoring systems that can be integrated into Humio. Below is a list of them, with links to pages which explain how to configure them and Humio to work together:
